A Bit About Me

I am a London-based, queer theatremaker, with a focus on creating narratives that uplift underrepresented individuals. I have training as a theatre director, with a focus on radical adaptations. Recently, my focus has also been placed on dramaturgical work, contemporary scenography design, installation and verbatim work.

I was born in Madrid, in the working-class town of Fuenlabrada. At the age of 18, I moved to Edinburgh, Scotland, to study for my undergraduate degree in History of Art and English Literature, at the University of Edinburgh. Since I was little I loved art and theatre. My grandfather was the one who thought me how to read, I immediately fell in love with the written word, and with the stage from a very young age. Participating as much as I could in regional plays and theatrical projects. During my time in Edinburgh, I created my own theatre company, focused on work that would empower artistically the Hispanic migrant community of the city.

After I graduated I moved to London to continue with my training, which I gained through the Royal School of Speech and Drama and the Young Vic. I also participated in various projects that have expanded my skill set as a maker and director, such as Commedia dell'Arte mask and archetype work, the inclusion of verbatim recording in environmental storytelling or, the use of live visual art in theatre.

My style of working is collaborative and I bring that to every project. I consider theatre-making as an act of love. You give birth to an idea. That by working with a team, is brought to life and finally set free on the stage. My style of directing is based on trust and honest communication.
